Do you thrive in a fast-paced environment and care deeply about building meaningful products in a supportive, collaborative culture to help close the financial gender gap? If so, you may be the Senior Software Engineer we’re looking for.
About Us
Female Invest is on a mission to close the financial gender gap. By creating a safe space and a trusted source for knowledge, we’re democratising investing for everyone globally.
We’ve created a platform that brings financial literacy to everyone. Now, we’re building a trading platform that helps our members achieve better, long-term financial outcomes, chipping away at one of the biggest issues of our generation: wealth inequality.
About the Role
As a Senior Software Engineer at Female Invest, you will play a key role in shaping how we build software and how we scale our platform for the future. You’ll partner closely with our Head of Engineering to guide the technical direction of our product, influence architectural choices, and help foster a culture rooted in ownership, craftsmanship, and continuous learning.
We’re looking for an experienced backend-focused engineer with deep knowledge of the Azure ecosystem to join our Copenhagen office. While all developers at Female Invest contribute across the full stack, this role leans toward backend implementation, infrastructure awareness, and API design, with the flexibility and willingness to support frontend development when needed.
Your Responsibilities
- Extreme ownership: We are looking for someone who is motivated to go the extra mile to build something that hasn’t been built before, and who spreads the value of ownership including by leading by example.
- Early Adaptor: You explore and experiment with new technologies that can strengthen our product or workflows. You will lead value-adding innovation initiatives, including leveraging AI, to improve both engineering processes and the product itself.
- Technology Development and Standards: Contribute to the development, deployment, and scaling of our platform and applications, ensuring reliability, security, and excellent user experiences.
- Collaboration: Work closely with designers and engineers to develop solutions that resonate with our users. You’ll take technical ownership of one or more core feature domains.
- Architecture: Act as the architect of your own solutions while aligning with the principles and direction of our broader ecosystem.
- Tech-stack: You’re comfortable across both backend and frontend development, and with integrating internal and external services.
- Infrastructure: Help maintain and configure key Microsoft Azure resources. You understand the fundamentals of cloud infrastructure and can contribute across the stack when needed.
- Code Quality & Long-Term Health: Champion clean, maintainable code by balancing new feature development with thoughtful refactoring. You proactively address technical debt, help prevent legacy buildup, and ensure the codebase remains scalable and easy to work in as the platform grows.
- At the end of your first year, success would mean:
- You’ve become the go-to person for backend and infrastructure guidance, supporting the team with clarity, mentorship, and technical leadership.
- You’ve delivered several end-to-end features that meaningfully impact our users and advance Female Invest’s mission.
- The codebase is healthier, cleaner, and easier to work in because of your proactive approach to quality and refactoring.
